Hong Fish Congee (ฮ้อง ข้าวต้มปลา)
For as long as I’ve been coming to Phuket (over 10 years), Hong Fish Congee (ฮ้อง ข้าวต้มปลา) has been one of my favorite Thai Chinese evening restaurants. From the sprawl of ingredients greeting you, to the front sign and facade that hasn’t changed or been cleaned in decades, you know it’s a good spot. The chef has insane cooking skills, and a few of my favorite dishes are the mixed seafood tom yum (ต้มยำทะเล tom yum ruam talay), seafood yellow egg curry (ผัดผงกะหรี่ pad pongari talay), and anything else stir fried. Lots of locals come for the affordable prices and big portions.
