I didn’t stare at this piece of fish too long. However, while I paused to admire it’s beauty, I couldn’t help but wonder if for centuries this same beautiful slice of fried fish stretching toward the sky had inspired architecture, folklore, and music in Thailand.

I don’t know for sure, but in the brief moment before I indulged, I believed it.
